School Adoption

Introduction

The School Adoption Program is a joint effort aimed at providing educational assistance to disadvantaged schools in our community. Volunteers from various departments collaborate to enhance the quality of education by conducting evening tuition sessions for the students. At Providence School and Christa Vidyalaya, we support students from 8th to 10th grade.

Each department sends student volunteers to facilitate these sessions daily from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, following a predetermined schedule. Our activities include donating textbooks, notebooks, stationery, and educational aids to enrich the learning experience. We also conduct teacher training workshops to improve educators’ skills and organize extracurricular activities, career guidance sessions, and motivational talks for student support.

The Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) Department plays a crucial role by providing midday meals to students at both Christha Vidyalaya and Providence School. This initiative ensures students have access to nutritious meals, promoting their health and well-being alongside their education. The BHM Department provides 210 food packets daily to support this cause.

Overall, our collaborative efforts have positively impacted the educational landscape of adopted schools and the lives of the students we serve. We’ve seen improved academic performance due to enhanced access to educational resources, better teaching quality resulting from teacher training workshops, and holistic development among students through various support programs.

Looking ahead, we aim to continue our collaboration with adopted schools, expand our support initiatives, and regularly evaluate our interventions to identify areas for improvement. Additionally, we seek to explore further avenues for community engagement to maximize the impact of the School Adoption Programme.

In a recent initiative, a student volunteer from the Physical Education Department organized a volleyball match for the students at Christha Vidyalaya, further enriching their educational experience outside the classroom.
