Media and Advocacy (Create. Express. Reform)

Introduction

The Media and Advocacy cohort of CSA will be taking care of the overall media, documentation and communication needs of the organisation. The cohort will also take up activities and initiatives relating to sensitisation through various digital, theatrical and non-theatrical modes.

Drishti

Drishti will focus on mass sensitisation through forms of theatre, with the major focus on street plays, while expanding to other forms of theatre, such as stage plays and mimes. These plays will be performed on campus, in project areas and various other places across the city for maximum sensitisation.

Publications

This programme will curate newsletters, periodicals and other forms of media in order to sensitise and raise awareness about many socially relevant issues. It will also maintain the website’s CSA blog.

Sensitisation and Awareness

This programme will create and implement non-theatrical engagement to raise public awareness. It will include, but is not limited to, awareness campaigns, marches and stalls. It will also include sensitisation on crucial days, mostly in partnership with relevant cohorts.

Digital Advocacy

This programme aims to develop and conduct media-based events with the purpose of sensitisation and awareness. It intends to create impactful events that inform and educate the public about important social issues. These events will serve as platforms to raise awareness about topics ranging from environmental conservation and human rights to mental health and social justice. Through media-based events, the programme aims to engage individuals, communities and organisations in an ongoing dialogue that promotes sensitisation, awareness and collective action for building a better world.

Creative Media and Documentation

This programme will manage the media wing and drive, as well as social media management and overall documentation. It will complete the documentation for various events. It will also include a quality check on the content provided by other cohorts, as well as media needs for overall events. They will use social media to promote the organisation and oversee social media campaigns. This programme will also look after the website.
